The Hidden Tunnels Just Beneath Our Feet In Swindon
We've got the well-known Old Town Tunnels, we've got the slightly less known GWR Tunnels underneath the former rail works site and we've also got our 1960s subterranean additions beneath Theatre Square.
Hey.any info on the old town tunnels and the gwr tunnels would be great. I've found a pretty cool storm drain under the train track that goes under where the works would have been at one point. I love a good tunnel.
The storm drain? It's opposite the running horse pub. Goes into the steep railway embankment...Goes on for ages and the lining changes a lot. Looks very, very old when you get far inside.
would love to know more about this tunnel i could also tell u about some tunnles that i have found unfortunately partly filled with rubble but they are beneth the mechanics instatute in the railway village
